Susan B. Anthony Research Paper Outline
I.
Introduction
a.
In a time where women were thought of to be slaves to men, it was very hard for
women to find ways to become a part of our great nation and for them to have the
right to vote. The road to women’s rights was long and hard, which Susan B.
Anthony was well aware of when she started her campaign for women’s rights in
the mid 1800’s.
b.
Susan B. Anthony affected society by making it possible for women to actually be
thought of as real people and to be able to play a role in the development of
our nation.
II.

making sure that the house was nice and clean.
III.

money to pay in order to get help.

today. Without her contributions to women’s rights, women and girls might still
be treated as they were in the early 1800’s
IV.
Historical Backdrop
a.
In 1863, Anthony and Stanton wrote the “Appeal to the Women of the Republic” which
was just the beginning of the women’s rights
campaign.
b.
Anthony, Matilda Gage, and Stanton publish “The History of Woman Suffrage” which included
four Volumes, and they were all published at different times from 1881 to
1902
c.
In 1920, The 19th amendment, otherwise known as the “Susan B. Anthony”
amendment, granted the right to vote to all U.S. women over the age of
21
d.
“Ignoring opposition and abuse, Anthony traveled, lectured, and canvassed across the
nation for the vote…”
V.
Conclusion
a.
I believe that Susan B. Anthony was a very influential person due to her
accomplishments in the field of women’s rights, and she should be recognized a
lot more in society today. People often take their rights for granted
now-a-days, and they need to learn that had it not been for an average U.S.
citizen, we would not be exactly where we are
today.
b.
People today need to stop taking advantage of everything they have and start
remembering all the pain and suffering that had to go into making all these
things possible today.
